The Relationship between the Qur'an and Ramadaan
Ramadaan is synonymous with the Qur'an, and the relationship between Ramadaan and the Qur'an is as strong as any relationship can be, and these two are inseparable. Allah says in the Qur'an:
شَهرُ رَمَضانَ الَّذي أُنزِلَ فيهِ القُرآنُ هُدًى لِلنّاسِ وَبَيِّناتٍ مِنَ الهُدىٰ وَالفُرقانِ ۚ
"The month of Ramadaan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. ( Surah Baqarah).
Ramadaan was the month during which the Qur'an was revealed as is mentioned in the above Ayah.
The relationship between Ramadaan and the Qur'an is also evident from the fact that Ramadaan is not complete without Taraweeh and Taraweeh is not complete without the Qur'an. The rewards for reciting the Qur'an are increased by minimum of between seventy and seven hundred times when one recites it during Ramadaan. This poses the perfect opportunity for us to gain reward by reciting the Qur'an as much as possible during Ramadaan.
Among the benefits of Ramadaan is that it cleanses the body from a physical and a spiritual perspective. The Qur'an aids this process and perfects it. The Qur'an is a means of purification and guidance for anyone who is mindful of the Qur'an and lives according to its teachings. Ultimately when we combine Ramadaan and the Qur'an, we create the perfect balance and harmony in our lives and the best conditions for spiritual perfection. Hence Ramadaan is aptly named “The Month of The Qur'an.”
You don't have to wait to "become better" to start a relationship with the Quran. Beginning a relationship with it will make you better.
We ask Allah to open the hearts of every Muslim towards the Qur'an during this most auspicious month of Ramadaan. May Allah grant us all a blessed and prosperous Ramadaan. May Allah grant all our loved ones who are no longer with us the highest stages in Jannah.
